We sent out an anonymous survey that received 32 responses, followed by five 1-1 interviews. We were looking for how people feel about adoption, shelters and non-profits . We also wanted to know what types of information people would expect to see on a website designed to rehome, adopt and save animals. See more of our research process here.
Based on our research, we crafted our user persona to guide us throughout the rest of our project.
Using our Persona and research, we brainstormed some ideas that would meet our users needs and address their pain points. Below are the three areas we decided to focus on.
We tested three mobile wireframe options using a modified AB test to get an idea of what mobile layout users would prefer. Based on that information we went with option C to build out our prototype. See desktop wireframes here.

We redesigned the NKUT website, adding more color and organizing the information and structure throughout the site. We also focused on expanding the adoption page. By allowing the user more control over the filters, they are able to quickly see which animals are available to adopt.
